It’s been a while since we last posted, but we’ve been working hard on new initiatives to support LGBTQ+ scientists, and we will send you more updates on those soon.

In the meantime, we’re excited to tell you that House of STEM has once again teamed up with some amazing groups to organise the second International Day of LGBT+ People in STEM, this Friday 5th July.

There are lots of ways you can get involved…

Put up a poster

Download our posters from, print one, and put it up in your lab, office, coffee room, or anywhere you have some empty wall space to let people know that this Friday is LGBTSTEMDay.

Join us on social media

Follow #LGBTSTEMDay on Twitter, where people will be sharing their experiences of being LGBTQ+ in STEM. Share your own stories, have conversations, and make friends. Keep an eye on #LGBTQSTEMDayand #LGBTQIASTEMDay too!

Have a cuppa with us

Make yourself a cup of tea or coffee, and meet us on Twitter from 11 am to 12 noon on Friday at #HouseofSTEMcuppa. It’s basically a House of STEM tea break, online, that anyone can join.

Organise an event

It’s not too late to organise a small event or get-together. Have a look at our toolkit for some ideas, and check our events page for events happening near you.
